This paper explores promising technical measures applicable to ingot casting. It also examines issues such as multi-pour casting, optimization of ingot geometry and the chemical composition of the cast metal, mastery of hollow ingot production, liquid vacuum degassing, bottom pouring of large ingots, thermal insulation materials for the hot top of ingots, prevention of secondary oxidation, and high-speed pouring. The article proposes recommendations for improving the technological processes used in Russian factories to cast steel into ingots.
